Physical therapist treating orthopedic pain

Common symptoms we help with

Orthopedic pain can develop after an injury, build gradually from repetitive activity, or continue even after you have tried rest and general exercises. We treat symptoms affecting the spine, muscles, joints, and tendons, including:

  • Neck or upper-back pain
  • Low-back or sacroiliac joint pain
  • Shoulder, elbow, wrist, or hand pain
  • Hip, knee, foot, or ankle pain
  • Muscle tightness, spasms, or trigger points
  • Joint stiffness or limited mobility
  • Weakness, instability, or poor balance
  • Tendon pain and overuse injuries
  • Pain with sitting, standing, walking, lifting, or exercise
  • Recurring flare-ups that make activity feel unpredictable

How we can help

Movement system evaluation

We assess how your whole body moves to identify the patterns, mobility restrictions, strength deficits, or loading habits that may be contributing to your pain. This helps us treat the source of the problem rather than focusing only on where it hurts.

Postural assessment

We look at how you sit, stand, work, lift, and move throughout the day. Small adjustments can reduce unnecessary strain while supporting more comfortable and efficient movement.

Strength & functional testing

Testing may include strength, flexibility, balance, mobility, and everyday movements related to your goals. Your results give us a clear starting point and help guide your progress over time.

Manual therapy

Hands-on treatment can improve joint mobility, reduce sensitivity, and make movement feel easier. It is used alongside active rehabilitation so the changes carry into daily life.

Trigger point release

Targeted pressure helps reduce painful muscle knots and areas of guarding that can restrict movement. Treatment is tailored to your comfort and the way your symptoms respond.

Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (Graston®)

Specialized tools may be used to improve the mobility of muscles, tendons, and connective tissue. This can be helpful when stiffness or soft tissue restriction is limiting comfortable movement.

Shockwave therapy

For persistent tendon pain or stubborn soft tissue conditions that have not responded to rest or general treatment, shockwave therapy may help stimulate healing and reduce pain sensitivity. It is used only after an evaluation and as part of a broader rehabilitation plan.

Therapeutic exercise

Your exercise plan is built around the strength, mobility, and endurance you need for your daily activities. Exercises progress as your symptoms improve and your body becomes ready for more challenge.

Neuromuscular re-education

We retrain movement patterns, muscle coordination, and body awareness so you can move with better control. This may help reduce compensation and lower the chance of repeated flare-ups.

Therapeutic taping (Kinesio tape & Leukotape)

Taping may provide temporary support, reduce irritation, or improve awareness of posture and joint position. The type of tape and technique depend on your symptoms and activity needs.

Patient education

You will learn what may be contributing to your pain and how to manage it between visits. We may discuss ergonomics, activity modification, recovery habits, and strategies for returning to movement with more confidence.

Home exercise program

You will receive a focused home plan that supports the work completed during your visits. The program is updated as you improve so it stays practical, purposeful, and aligned with your goals.
